If a match cannot be played, there are rules that define how the match should be registered. Depending on the situation, the match may be postponed, canceled by one of the players, or canceled by both.
Player is injured or unavailable
If both players agree, the match can be postponed. Select the match and plan it for a future date. Otherwise, cancel the match and select the player who is injured or unavailable. Do not enter a score.
Player is not responding
Cancel the match and select the player who is not responding. Do not enter a score.
Injury during the match
If both players agree, the match can be continued at a later date. Otherwise, cancel the match and select the injured player. Players may also agree to enter the score as it stood at the moment the match was stopped.
Both players are unable to play this round
If both players agree, the match can be planned and played in a future round by registering a new planned match date. Otherwise, cancel the match and select “both players.” This is treated as skipping the round.
Players do not agree on the planning
Planning a match can sometimes be challenging. Please try to be flexible to help make the match happen. If there is a disagreement, review the guidelines for planning a match.
Match is not registered
If no result or match date is registered by the end of the round, the highest-ranked player drops one position, as this player is responsible for planning the match. Try to avoid this by contacting the other player in time. If the other player does not respond, cancel the match and select the non-responding player.
