You play 'best of 5' using point-a-rally. If you need to leave the court early, the player that leads in games wins (or points if tied in games).
The winner registers the score with the clubladder app or on the site.

At the end of each round we process the matches to determine your new position using the following rules:

  • You switch positions if you win against someone that is higher on the ladder.
  • You drop one spot if you cancel a match or if you skip two rounds in a row.
  • Your profile is removed from the ladder if you cancel all your matches two rounds in a row.

New players

Players can join the ladder anytime, and their starting position is based on their play level. Thereafter, only match results matter.

You only drop one spot if you lose from a new player, or if you lose from a player that has not lost a single match in previous rounds.

Multiple matches per round

If you play two or more matches in a round, the results may contradict eachother. For example, you win against #10 but you lose lose against #20. Your next position will be in between your highest win and your lowest loss (#15). If there are 3 or more conflicting match results in the same round, your next position is calculated using all match results. For example, if you win against #10 and #11 and you lose against #20, your next position will be around #13.

Frequently asked questions

We look at your last 2 match results to determine your 'ideal' opponent.

Let's say you are #9 and you won your last match from #10. The next round you will probably play with #6, #7 or #8. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee this will succeed: Perhaps these players have already been assigned a match, or they skip a round, or you have already played with them recently. In that case it can happen that you will be assigned a match with someone lower again.

If you win twice in a row from a lower player lower, you will get the highest priority to play a higher opponent in the following round.

Did you lose the last round? Then you will probably play someone lower.

We also make sure you don't play someone that you have played with recently.

Make sure you are logged in, go to settings, click on the pause button and select the rounds you want to skip.

Please send us the match details including the name of the players and the club. We will include the results at the end of the current round.

A suitable proposal for planning the match is:
  • The suggestion in the match email, or any of the days that the other player is available
  • At least 3 days from today, for example: On Thursday night you suggest to play on Sunday morning
  • Not later than 3 days after the end of the round in which the match was organised
You can also jointly agree on any other day!

SBN ranking

Matches between 2 SBN registered players are included in the national SBN ranking. However, the processing of these matches can take a few weeks:
  • Sportconnexions forwards the results of SBN ladder matches at the end of each round.
  • SBN processes the ladder match results around the start of each month.
As a result, it may take 1 to 6 weeks before match results have been included for the national SBN ranking. Please contact us if SBN ladder match results older than 6 weeks have not yet been included in the SBN ranking.
